The Southern Spoor team consists of a dynamic group of enthusiastic and dedicated people, headed up by industry icon Anita Foxcroft. Having spent several years developing new markets for an international tour operator, Anita founded Southern Spoor Marketing in 1999, initially focusing on hospitality representation within the national and international tour operator market. The company has since grown into one of Africa’s leading hospitality marketing enterprises, setting the benchmark for marketing excellence in tourism, offering integrated communication and sales services within the hospitality industry and other sectors.
Trish Faber joined Southern Spoor in 2008 in the capacity of account manager, and is responsible for local and international sales for the tour operator market. Trish is a natural sales person and is well respected in the industry. Her strong, driven and passionate personality, coupled with her extensive tourism knowledge, has greatly contributed to increased support for the Southern Spoor portfolio. Trish now takes care of all our rates, fact sheets, and product updates. She has also broadened her horizons to service other markets, but remains a tour operator specialist.
Dumi Simelane joined the company in 2017 in the role of account manager, focusing on government agents as well as travel agents, wholesalers and PCOs. Dumi’s enthusiasm, outgoing personality and dedication to customer service has stood her in good stead in developing these markets and forging strong customer relationships.
In 2019, the Southern Spoor account management team expanded to include Annemarie Lexow who is managing travel agent, wholesaler, PCO and corporate accounts. Annemarie has a good mix of experience in the industry, having worked in the travel logistics, agency and media sectors before joining Southern Spoor. Annemarie is a quick thinker and learner, has initiative and works with integrity.
Valerie Streicher, who worked for Southern Spoor a few years ago handling the reservations on behalf of a property, rejoined the team in 2019 and will be responsible for managing the company’s database and undertaking special sales research and projects. Valerie has held a number of administrative and reservation positions in tourism and hospitality, and her strong administrative skills will no doubt prove to be an asset to the company.
Southern Spoor has a dedicated PR and design arm as an extension of its traditional sales offering. Services offered include PR activities, social media campaigns, web sites, newsletters, designs across all digital platforms and general trade communication on behalf of the Southern Spoor portfolio.
Jo Stewart forms part of Southern Spoor’s external support network but is no stranger to the company, having been previously employed at Southern Spoor for a number of years in a sales and marketing as well as PR capacity. With a communications qualification and over 20 years’ experience in the travel and communications industries, Jo works closely with Southern Spoor to provide PR and communications services and support for the Southern Spoor portfolio.
Also part of the extended support network, Carissa Webster is responsible for creating beautiful designs across all digital platforms for Southern Spoor. Carissa has a passion for understanding customers’ requirements and delivering innovative brand design solutions. Combining her training in best of breed suites such as Adobe & Corel, and years of experience with customer engagement, she is able to deliver solutions that create an impact.
