With an exposed black brick facade silhouetted against the Sandton skyline, BlackBrick is a striking mixed-use residential building setting a new trend in urban hospitality. Located on 25 Fredman Drive in the heart of Sandton, the unique-concept hotel is part of a growing drive to revitalise disused commercial properties in central locations and repurpose them as mixed-use apartments and hotel accommodation with a range of interactive facilities.
The hotel is set across two floors of the BlackBrick building and offers 75 apartment-style guest rooms featuring energy-saving technology, fast WiFi, USB chargers and smart TVs. BlackBrick has collaborated with South Africa's leading furniture and homeware store, Weylandts, known for its pared-back, edgy yet natural style. The clean and contemporary interiors throughout complement the prominent works of art by South African artists, and the bold, raw exterior of the building, firmly establishing BlackBrick in an aesthetic league of its own. This signature style is further defined by quirky features such as a DJ box in the reception setting the tone of what's to come, and five Mini Coopers on site on a car sharing app for guests' use.
Hotel guests get free access to the BlackBrick members' club facilities and experiences, which include a cinema, library, roof top boma, yoga meditation garden and boxing gym. A personal trainer and weekly boot camp are also on offer.
As working trends move away from traditional office set-ups, BlackBrick offers a range of flexible, inspiring work and meeting spaces for individuals, groups and conferences, supported by high-speed fibre and the necessary equipment.
While all guest rooms are fitted with kitchens for self-catering, the hotel has two bistro-style cafés on site, and a plethora of dining options within the Sandton precinct.
BlackBrick offers affordable, unique accommodation in a desirable location, and a range of cool services that will make the hotel a destination in itself.
