Sarova Shaba is a luxury lodge that overlooks the crocodile infested Ewaso Nyiro River and has 85 thatched bedrooms, tastefully combining local materials including stone and timber. All rooms have air-conditioning to keep the heat at bay and a view of the river. Shaba has one superior suite with a Jacuzzi and four luxury suites for guests celebrating special occasions. Spring water flows throughout the lodge to form beautiful water cascades, creating an oasis of lush tropical vegetation.
The open-air restaurant overlooks the superb free-form pool, river and gardens of the hotel. Early evening entertainment is provided by local Samburu dancers, who delight and enchant with rythmic dances. Dinner at the Sarova Shaba Game Lodge is served at the Surpelei Restaurant. The Shaba National Reserve is known as Kenya’s ‘Born Free Country’ and was home to the great conservationists Joy and George Adamson and was also host to the reality show ‘Survivor’.
